This is a faith based trip to Mountaintop Ministries in Haiti. A portion of the trip is sponsored through Student Life for students who are enrolled as a degree seeking student during the Spring 2014. Students will have an opportunity to complete projects at the ministry that will benefit the Haitian people. Opportunities for mission work in a health clinic, schools, and with construction are possible. Use your Spring Break to make a difference, and earn college credit for the Study Abroad experience!

Jamaica Service Learning Experience

Through the Intercollegiate YMCA, Ivy Tech students will join with other university students and travel to Mandeville, Jamaica for a Service Trip during Spring Break.  The purpose of the trip is to work with the Hanbury home that house over 150 orphans ranging from 0 years to eighteen.  Students will be working on bettering the camp.

Students and guests will be traveling to New Delhi, Lucknow, and Kanpur. They will work with Dr. Awadh Dubey, and his son, Dr. Gurav Dubey, ophthalmologists who take a traveling eye clinic to the rural areas of northern India. The experiences will include helping with the ophthalmology clinic (the exact nature of the work is to be determined). Possible experiences will involve helping prep patients for cataract surgery, assisting after surgery, and/or other aspects of patient care. Additionally, other community service projects may be identified for student participation.

Students from all over the US with a variety of majors have attended the Odyssey in Athens Study Abroad Program. It is a wonderful semester or year-long program through the University of Indianapolis Athens Campus, which is the ONLY accredited American University that is completely owned and controlled by the home campus in the US- University of Indianapolis, Indiana. All course work completed in Athens is transferred from the Registrar's office in Indianapolis to your home institution in the form of a transcript. All courses are taught in English. To get an idea of the courses offered , you can go to the UIndy Athens web page: http://www.uindy.gr/current_students/schedules/index.html Most of the Odyssey students take advantage of the Greek language course and Greek culture and society or the Greek Art and Archaeology course. However, several students come over and take courses in their chosen fields, like business, computer science, psychology, etc. There is no need to know the Greek language.
