This course allows students to view the banking profession in a broad, operational perspective. Intended for beginning bankers, its practical approach provides each student with an overview of the US commercial banking system and leads the students from the fundamentals of negotiable instruments to the basic issues critical to an understanding of banking today. Principles of Banking will cover all departments within banking operations, including lending, bookkeeping, proofing, customer service, and the role of the Federal Reserve Bank. Students will receive Indiana Bankers Association (IBA) certificates and IBA credits upon successful completion of this course.
