Principles of Banking

This course allows students to view their chosen profession in banking in a broad, operational perspective.  Its practical approach provides each student with an overview of the U.S. commercial banking system and leads the students from the fundamentals of negotiable instruments to the basic issues critical to an understanding of banking today.  Students will receive Indiana Bankers Association (IBA) certificates and IBA credits upon successful completion of this course.

Course Objective
This course is intended to provide for present and future bank employees the WHAT and WHY of banking. The course material is general in nature and attempts to emphasize: (1) What is relevant from the past; (2) What is happening in the present day banking; and (3) What might possibly happen in the future. Principles of Banking will cover all departments within the banking operations including lending, bookkeeping, proofing, customer service, and the role of the Federal Reserve Bank.

Training Description and Materials
This instructor led course, with textbook, focuses on preparing beginning bankers with the core knowledge necessary to get their banking careers started in an ideal fashion.  Students will receive IBA certificates and credits upon successful completion.   

Hours and Cost
Your Principles of Banking course is a 42-hour training activity, scheduled at your convenience for up to a maximum of 12 participants.  4.2 IACET approved CEU’s will be awarded upon successful completion of the course in addition to IBA credits..  Pricing includes training administration, instruction, class handouts and materials, and an activity evaluation at the conclusion of training.
