CDL-B Commercial Driver's License Truck Driver Training

The CDL-B Truck Driver Training program is designed to prepare students for the Indiana CDL examination.  The College is partnered with SAGE Technical Schools to provide CDL training based on the renowned curriculum of the Professional Truck Drivers Institute (PTDI). This curriculum will act as the basis for national standards and rules for truck driver training schools.

• 40 hours of instruction: 24 hours of range and road instruction, 16 hours of class room instruction.

Course Objectives

• Basic Operation: Orientation, Vehicle Inspection, Proficiency Development: Basic Control.

• Safe Operating Practices: Proficiency Development-Safe Operating Practices.

• Advanced Operating Practices: Practice Safe Driving Exam Maneuvers.

• Preparation for CDL Examination: General Knowledge, Air Brakes, Tank Trucks, Hazardous Materials.

Training description and materials

This instructor led course with reference text, focuses on all the skills and knowledge needed to pass the CDL exam and enter a successful career in the transportation industry.  Driving time includes 24 hours of range and over-the-road instruction, utilizing a one-on-one delivery.

Hours and Cost

Your CDL-B: Commercial Driver’s License Truck Driver Training is a 40-hour training activity.  **Pricing does not include Indiana learner’s permit, DOT physical, drug screen, and BMV official driving record.
