Logistics Warehousing Technology Skills
In today’s highly automated logistics industry, changes are occurring daily and are driven by the increased use of technology to manipulate data and produce information.  A successful career in warehousing and distribution centers requires an understanding of technology in the workplace and the problem solving skills to effectively use it.   Available as a stand-alone course, it is also the fourth module toward becoming a Certified Warehousing and Distribution Specialist and lays the groundwork for achieving success in warehousing and distribution center environments.

The target audience is training those currently employed in warehousing and distribution preparing them for greater responsibility and growth in these careers.  Skills taught are based on the output of industry focus groups of leading logistics companies.  This course was developed and is certified by the Georgia Department of Technical & Adult Education.

Course Objectives

Logistics/Warehousing Technology Skills: 

• Scanners and Data Entry provides focuses on becoming familiar with bar coding, scanners, and scanner systems for data entry.

• Data Applications reviews commonly used warehouse management systems used in maintaining efficient and accurate inventory.

• Problem Solving covers a six-step process used for problem identification and a systemic approach to problem solving.

• Introduction to Industrial Controls focuses on a basic understanding of industrial control circuits.

• Introduction to Computers and Automation provides a fundamental understanding of computers and their critical role in workplace automation.

Training description and materials

This instructor led course is a blended learning environment led by Certified Instructors.  The complete course includes classroom instruction and simulations.

Hours and Cost

Your Logistics/Warehousing Technology Skills course is a 32-hour training activity, scheduled at your convenience for up to a maximum of 8 participants.  Pricing includes training administration, instruction, class handouts and materials, and an evaluation at the conclusion of training.

Working in the Warehousing Environment:  $2,700 (Additional participants may be available at an additional cost)
