CPIM provides a common basis for individuals and organizations to evaluate their knowledge in the evolving field of inventory management.  The body of knowledge contained in this certification has helped individuals and their organizations become more productive and competitive because it is designed to test candidates’ in-depth knowledge in a variety of subjects specific to production and inventory management.  The major requirement for earning the CPIM is passing the exams of the five modules that define the CPIM:  Basics of Supply Chain Management, Master Planning of Resources, Detailed Scheduling and Planning, Execution and control of Operations, and Strategic Management of Resources.

Training description and materials

This instructor led course with reference texts, focuses in part on the study and application of course materials to the supply chain environment.  Each module offers a separate exam.  Certification is earned by passing all five module exams, and is often listed as a requirement for materials management professionals.
