Available as a stand-alone course, it is also the third module toward becoming a Certified Warehousing and Distribution Specialist and lays the groundwork for achieving success in warehousing and distribution center environments.
The target audience is training those currently employed in warehousing and distribution preparing them for greater responsibility and growth in these careers. Skills taught are based on the output of industry focus groups of leading logistics companies. This course was developed and is certified by the Georgia Department of Technical & Adult Education.

Course Objectives
Warehousing and Distribution Process:
• Logistics focuses on warehouse operations, inventory and inventory management as well as key warehousing jobs.
• Warehousing Productivity Measures discusses key metrics, what they measure, and how to calculate them.
• Palletizing teaches methods of preparing materials and products for transport and warehousing.
• Handling Systems familiarizes participants with various types of conveyors that are used on packaging lines.
• Methods of Inventory Management reviews the most common types of inventory control systems such as Kanban process, JIT philosophy and MRP.
• Protecting Material and Merchandise focuses on protection of product throughout the warehousing process as well as special handling of product and materials.
• Processing Hazardous Materials gives an overview of federal, state, and local requirements placed on employees concerning hazardous materials.

This instructor led course is a blended learning environment led by Certified Instructors. The complete course includes classroom instruction and simulations.
Hours and Cost
Your Logistics: Warehousing and Distribution Process course is a 40-hour training activity, scheduled at your convenience for up to a maximum of 8 participants. Pricing includes training administration, instruction, class handouts and materials, and an evaluation at the conclusion of training.
