COURSE OBJECTIVES

• Demonstrate basic skills in threading, soldering, and brazing pipe
• Explain the basic types of valves, their usage, and repair
• Make and replace gaskets and understand their applications
• Describe sprinkler system constructions work and how they work
• Repair, maintain, and replace plant air distribution systems
TRAINING DESCRIPTION
This course is designed to acquaint maintenance personnel with a basic foundation and the necessary skills to make repairs or layout new pipe. This includes the determination of the proper type and quantity of material needed to complete a task and join those materials properly.
Areas of study will include PVC pipe, copper pipe, black iron pipe, butt-welding PVC, valve bodies, pipe threading, compression fittings, gasket materials, CPVC pipe, aluminum tubing, galvanized pipe, hot tapes,material specifications, pipe joining, flared fittings, and sprinkler systems.
HOURS AND COST
Your Basic Pipe Fitting training course includes 40 contact hours for up to 10 employees. 4.0 IACET Approved CEUs will be awarded upon the successful completion of the course. Pricing includes training administration, instruction, all course material, handouts, certificate of completion, and an activity evaluation at the conclusion of training.
