The CNC Operator Level I certification is a nationally recognized certification offered by the National Institute of Metal Workers (NIMS) and endorsed by the National Association of Manufacturers (NAM). The training will enable workers to build the core knowledge and skills required to operate CNC machinery in modern advanced manufacturing.
This course covers basic skills for the safe and proper preparation, set-up, and operation of CNC machining centers. This course utilizes industry standard tooling and equipment, and culminates with a nationally recognized certification to those individuals that successfully pass each component of the training, skills assessment, and NIMS proctored exam.

TRAINING DESCRIPTION AND MATERIALS
This instructor led course uses E-learning materials, OJT Training guides with skill assessment, and NIMS Certification testing to focus on the processes required to manufacture basic precision quality parts with minimal waste. Students learn by doing with hands on projects, supplemented with focused lectures, additional reference materials, and continual improvement through the instructor’s input and guidance. For experienced or advanced students, CNC Operator Level I can be customized to include specialized, company or industry specific equipment or materials, advanced course materials, or other specialized needs.
HOURS
Your NIMS CNC Operator Level I course is a 140 hour training activity scheduled at your convenience for up to 12 participants maximum. Training includes all course materials, training administration, instruction, equipment use, activity evaluation, and NIMS certification testing fees.
