The HVAC Excellence®, Air-Conditioning Certification is recognized nationally. This training session will allow for HVAC technicians, facilities maintenance personnel etc. to gain the skills and knowledge necessary to prove mastery of the air-conditioning facet of the HVAC trade.

This course will provide for the learner with an understanding and application of the newest technologies being introduced into the trade. We will cover safety and theory of thermodynamics and progress into the latest methodologies of troubleshooting and installation. Much of this course will require the learner to prove mastery with hands-on demonstration of the competencies covered.

The training will culminate in the awarding of the HVAC Excellence ®  Air Conditioning Certification upon successful completion of the training and testing.

COURSE OBJECTIVES 

• Demonstrate safe practices and procedures.
• Able to describe the state of the refrigerant in any part of the system.
• Be able, using manifold gages, pressure / temperature charts, and thermometers to determine superheat, sub-cooling, evaporator coil TD, evaporator coil Delta T, condensing temperature, saturated suction temperature and condenser split.
• Describe the effects on the system from the common system problems such as: undercharging, overcharging, restricted air movement through coils etc.
• Be able to perform leak checks on residential and commercial equipment.
• Be able to perform tasks assigned in a safe and professional manner.

TRAINING DESCRIPTION AND MATERIALS

This instructor led course, with text and internet resources will focus on having the learner use analytical though processes in troubleshooting problems associated with modern HVAC equipment. The training will guide the learner in developing critical thinking skills necessary to become confident in the understanding of HVAC systems and their components. The HVAC Excellence Air Conditioning Certification Exam will serve as the outcomes assessment of the training.
