HVAC and Refrigeration Technician
The HVAC-R Technician Program prepares individuals to enter the HVAC-R technician field while also providing professional development to engineers and technicians currently working in the HVAC-R field. Participants will study the same lesson plans as our traditional students but in an adult friendly, accelerated format.

  • MIT 113 Basic Electricity – 3 credit hours
  • HEA 101 Heating Fundamentals – 3 credit hours
  • HEA 103 A/C & Refrigeration I – 3 credit hours
  • HEA 104 Heating Service – 3 credit hours
  • HEA 106 A/C & Refrigeration II – 3 credit hours
  • HEA 221 Cooling Service and Heat Pumps – 3 credit hours

TRAINING DESCRIPTION

This academically accelerated and laboratory training program consists of six courses for a total of 256 training hours and can be completed in 32 weeks with classes meeting for four hours twice a week. Participants who successfully complete the program will be awarded 18 credit hours that can be applied to an Associate degree program. No previous experience is required for entry into the program.

Participants will be required to make application to the college and sit for an assessment test to determine college level placement. Some student services can be handled on-site or via phone.  Program starts in January and August at our downtown campus. A customized course can be created at anytime with a minimum of 10 students.

HOURS

Your Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning, and Refrigeration Technician program includes the six course sequence for up to 20 employees.

Pricing includes training administration, instruction, and an activity evaluation at the conclusion of each course.
