Okuma Mechanical Maintenance

This course is designed for the service or maintenance participants who have only limited exposure to Okuma lathes.  The course would also be applicable for those who are first-time CNC machine tool users.

COURSE OBJECTIVES

  • Learn how the different systems of the machine function both individually and in relation to each other, and to become aware of the preventive maintenance required to keep the machine running in top condition.
  • Diagnose problems using your own experience, the manuals provided with this course, your machine, and the machine's own self-checking capabilities.
  • Discuss problems and solutions by phone first with your distributor's service staff or after you have exhausted that source, then with OKUMA.
  • Perform simple repairs that can save expensive service calls and downtime.

TRAINING DESCRIPTION AND MATERIALS

Course emphasis is a blend of classroom instructional theory, hands-on laboratory exercises and individually displayed skills.

HOURS

You’re Okuma Mechanical Maintenance course is a 32-hour training activity, scheduled at your convenience for up to a maximum of 8 participants.  3.2 IACET approved CEU’s will be awarded upon successful completion of the course.  Pricing includes training administration, instruction, class handouts and materials, and an activity evaluation at the conclusion of training.
