Ivy Tech Community College’s partnership with the American Welding Society provides opportunity for local, cost-efficient and competency-driven training for your employees.  Training is largely hands-on, focusing contact-time on skills-building, and is facilitated by Certified Welding Educators (CWE).  Certification confirms that your employees can weld to industry standards of welding efficiency, productively, and safely.

• Apply safety procedures in preparation of and welding of pipe
• Exhibit the proper technique for preparing a hands-on layout, and fit-up of branch connections
• Exhibit the proper technique for preparing a hands-on layout, and fit-up of laterals
• Exhibit the proper technique for preparing a hands-on layout, and fit-up of circumferential sleeves
• Exhibit the proper technique for preparing a hands-on layout, and fit-up of bull plugs
• Demonstrate the ability to tack pipe in position

TRAINING DESCRIPTION

This course provides the participant fundamentals for layout and fabrication of typical pipe connections, as well as explains applied mathematics, basic equations, and chart usage for fabrication these connections.  Participants receive a basic understanding of the types of joints with hands-on layout and fit-up of branch connections, laterals, circumferential sleeves and bull plugs.

HOURS

Your Pipe Layout for Fitters & Welders course is a 70-hour training activity, scheduled at your convenience for up to a maximum of 8 participants.  Pricing includes training administration, instruction, class handouts and materials, training consumables, and an activity evaluation at the conclusion of training.
