This program utilizes a blended e-learning concept and is designed to prepare individuals for the ASQ Six Sigma Green Belt Certification. Course materials are accessed online through the Ivy Tech Quality Campus web portal (ivy.qualitycampus2.com). The online content is then combined with scheduled classroom meetings that provide a unique blend of study disciplines.

COURSE OBJECTIVES

Understand the philosophy of Six Sigma and why it works in contrast to other quality improvement programs

• Identify the objectives of all phases as follows:
• Design: identify customer requirements, determine a project scope, define what is Critical to Quality (CTQ), develop process maps, and estimate the Cost of Poor Quality (COPQ)
• Measure: identify process parameters affecting the CTQ variables, analyze the current measurement system, and define a baseline process
• Analyze: assure process understanding, identify special and common cause variation, and conduct hypothesis testing
• Improve: identify possible solutions using Design of Experiments (DOE), verify solutions, and mistake proof the process
• Control: develop control plans, implement solutions, ensure the correct implementation of control charts, transitioning the project, measuring progress, and sustaining gains
• Prepare for taking ASQ Six Sigma Green Belt Certification Exam.

This course is instructor-led, utilizing a hybrid delivery of face-to-face and online instruction.  All course related materials (including online content) are supplied with this program and are incorporated into the cost.  Successful completers will be prepared to sit for the ASQ Six Sigma Green Belt Certification exam.
