Think For Success is the third of seven soft-skill classes in the HIRE (Help in Reaching Employment) job readiness program series. While part of the series, Think For Success can also be presented as a stand-alone class.

COURSE OBJECTIVES

• Demonstrate verbal & logical reasoning to foster independent thinking by correctly solving puzzles and answering a series of complex questions.
• Given a topic to debate, influence others through the use of good listening and critical thinking skills.
• After answering the VAK Learning Styles questionnaire, identify their own preferred learning style and identify ways to use that information to improve their learning at work.
• Given four different problem-solving and decision-making techniques, conduct a rigorous analysis of problems, look at as many factors as possible in a structured, methodical way and choose the best course of action.
• When presented with a business problem, use a SWOT Analysis to determine the organizational strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats and generate possible solutions to the problem.

TRAINING DESCRIPTION AND MATERIALS

This instructor-led interactive course focuses on critical thinking, listening skills, learning styles, problem solving, decision making, and independent thinking. Participants engage in role playing, puzzles, brain teasers, and case studies designed to elicit solutions through rigorous analysis of complicated work situations. Participants will complete a VAK learning styles questionnaire to determine their preferred learning style. The class concludes with a journaling exercise and action plan development.

HOURS

Your Think For Success course is a 7-hour training activity scheduled at your convenience for up to 12 participants. 0.7 IACET approved CEU’s will be awarded upon successful completion of the course.  Pricing includes training administration, instruction, class handouts and materials, and an activity evaluation at the conclusion of training.
