After searching for the right college, I found Ivy Tech to be a great "fit" for me. The Agriculture program utilizes a hands-on learning approach that has substantially increased my overall comprehension and advancement of vital techniques necessary for success. The program is giving me a strong sense that I am receiving a valuable education from instructors that are second to none.
Justin McKain, Ivy Tech - Wabash Valley

Why did I choose Ivy Tech? Well, to be honest, it wasn't my first choice. I was the kid that always wanted to go out east for school and I did my freshmen year. I attended Delaware State University. I loved it...at first, but as the year went on, I realized how much I really disliked the fact I was 720 miles from home. I had no car, but most importantly, I found that Delaware wasn't really the place for me. Then my friend told me about the Ivy Tech Agriculture program in Marion, IN. I applied and decided that I would transfer to Ivy Tech in the fall. I decided on completing the 2 year degree. I couldn't be happier! The best part of Ivy Tech is that it is affordable and I am not just a number. The Program Chair has done a wonderful job with the program and the teachers really know their stuff - especially for kids like me who have no agriculture background. The Ag Club is a lot of fun, too. I am currently the PR and Historian Officer and committee chair for Ag Days. I am going for Agri-business and plan on eventually continuing my studies to get a 4 year degree. So when asked why I like the Ivy Tech Agriculture program, I smile and answer, "Why would you want to go anywhere else? It's an amazing hands-on experience; and you meet some awesome people from all over!"

Ivy Tech Agriculture department not only taught me the basics of agriculture, but taught me the practical skills needed to be successful in life. Without Ivy Tech and the agriculture support staff I would not have the opportunities I have today.

Ivy Tech enabled me to get a great headstart in the agronomic, technological, and managerial aspects of the farming industry. It gave me a great foundation on which I could build. Thank you Ivy Tech.
