Introduction to QuickBooks Pro 2013

Prerequisites: Basic accounting strongly recommended. Working knowledge of Windows, including saving and moving files, required.

Learn the basics of how to set up your business with this popular accounting program. Our beginning-level course is for people who are just starting out with QuickBooks. You will learn to set up a company from scratch, as well as how to maintain a chart of accounts, customers, vendors, and employees. Additionally, you will learn how to work with bank accounts, generate invoices, pay bills, process cash receipts, and track credit cards. Textbook is included in course fee.

Advanced QuickBooks Pro 2013

Prerequisite: Introduction to Quickbooks Pro.

The advanced QuickBooks Pro course is for those who have either completed the introductory course or who have a good working knowledge of the software. This course will cover how to analyze financial data through the software, to set up and maintain inventory records, and to track and pay sales tax. In addition, processing payroll, estimating and progress invoicing, tracking time, customizing forms, generating letters from the software, and using multiple currencies will all be taught in the course. Textbook is included in course fee.

If you're a design-curious computer graphics novice, interested in getting a basic understanding of graphic design, these classes are for you. You'll get a solid working knowledge of the fundamentals of graphic design. Skills you can implement immediately in your own work or in working with designers.



Adobe Photoshop CS6: Level 1

Photoshop is a professional-level program for photo editing. Use the new Photoshop effects to create and enhance your own drawings, to correct and improve scanned images, and to manipulate digital photo images at-will. Learn about the toolbox, layers, filters and more. No freehand drawing skill is required to create stunning effects, even at basic skill levels. Composites, basic color correction, and layered editing will be taught in a hands-on, artistic approach.

Adobe Photoshop CS6: Level 2

Prerequisite: Knowledge of the topics covered in Adobe Photoshop Basics

Further your knowledge and ability to use Photoshop for professional-level photo editing. Use the software to manipulate and enhance the appearance of an image. Work with layers and masks. Learn to create and edit vector paths, and automate tasks. You’ll also learn to edit and export video files and work with other Adobe applications.

Adobe InDesign CS6

In this Adobe InDesign class, you'll get hands-on desktop publishing training and come away knowing how to use this popular page layout software to design and create professional quality letterhead, business cards, brochures, PDF files that play movies, and more. You'll discover that you don't have to be a designer or an artist to produce professional quality documents!

Lesson by lesson, you'll discover how the program features relate to producing actual usable documents as we explore the best ways to create different types of material, how to organize and name your files, and how to reuse items such as colors and artwork. Introduction to Graphic Design

Good design contributes to the effectiveness of any visual communication. Basic Graphic Design provides an introduction to creating graphics for print and web publications. The class will cover some historical background of modern desktop publishing, and will focus on three important areas of graphic design: Incorporating photographs, illustrations and typography into a coherent layout; Utilizing placement, grouping, and white space to produce pleasing compositions; Applying thought-provoking elements of theme, style, and connotation to strengthen the message. The skills and knowledge gained in this class will provide a practical and versatile framework for creativity in all types of visual communications and may be utilized with any desktop publishing software.
