Recreation Sports Summer Series

Looking for something fun and laid back to do outside this summer? Starting in June, Ivy Tech – Bloomington will begin its first annual Summer Series! The Summer Series is a set of recreational activities that will be played each Thursday evening from 6:00pm-7:30pm during the month of June on the Ivy Tech Bloomington front lawn. Students, faculty, staff and guests are permitted to play. Sign up by June 2nd by emailing Al Buchanan at abuchanan17@ivytech.edu.

Summer Series Events Include

Badminton (June 5th)

A badminton tournament will be set up outside the Connie and Steve Ferguson building, where teams of two will participate. You can form your own team of two, or asked to be put on a team.

Volleyball (June 12th)

A volleyball tournament will be set up outside the Connie and Steve Ferguson building, where teams of three will participate. You can form your own team of three, or asked to be put on a team.

Whiffle Ball (June 19th)

A game of whiffle ball will be played outside of the Connie and Steve Ferguson building. If you would like certain people on your team for whiffle ball, email Al Buchanan at abuchanan17@ivytech.edu.

Cornhole (June 26th)

To celebrate the “Summer Series” we will have a cornhole tournament and serve hamburgers and hot dogs during the tournament. You can form your own team, or asked to be put on a team.

You do not have to participate in all of the Summer Series activities. You can sign up for one, two, three or all four!



Summer Zumba

Zumba is back with a vengeance! This high-tempo, cardio dance workout is fun for all ages and athletic abilities. Our wonderful certified Zumba instructor, Kristy, will make sure you are working your hardest while staying safe and practicing proper workout techniques. Classes are open to students, faculty, and staff and are completely FREE!
