Scholarships for 2009-10 have already been awarded. The application for the 2010-11 Ivy Tech Foundation Scholarships will be available on this page in late March or early April, 2010.

American Society for Quality (ASQ) Scholarship

  • Established by American Society for Quality, South Central Indiana Section 0920, this scholarship is established to help students attain their educational goals.

Custer Foundation Scholarship

  • Established in memory of Clarence E. and Inez R. Custer. This scholarship assists students whose financial needs cannot be met through traditional sources of financial aid.

Eloise T. Lewis Nursing Scholarship

  • Established to provide financial assistance to students in either the LPN-RN/ASN or RN/ ASN programs.

  • Must be pursuing a Technical Certificate in Practical Nursing or Associate of Science degree in Nursing
  • Must have successfully completed one semester in program
  • Must have a minimum GPA of 3.0 or higher

Dr. Michael E. Pauszek Paramedic Science and EMT Program Scholarship

  • This scholarship is established to provide financial assistance to students in both the Paramedic Science and EMT programs.

  • Must be pursuing a Technical Certificate in the EMT program OR
  • Must be pursuing an associates degree in the Paramedic Science program

Sandy and Bill DeMichieli Nursing Scholarship

  • Established to provide new, first or second year students with paid tuition to assist in completing the two year programs in either Nursing (ASN) or Practical Nursing Programs.

EmCon Technology Scholarship

  • Established in February 2005, this scholarship supports students enrolled in the Technology Division’s programs.

Rose Barnes Memorial Scholarship
  • Amount: Up to $500
  • Awarded: Fall, Spring, or Summer
  • Established by the Business Division faculty in memory of Business Division Chair, Professor Rose Barnes, who died Oct. 24, 2003, this endowed scholarship was supported by family and friends. Rose had been associated with Ivy Tech for over 30 years. She had great influence on studuents by setting high standards for their performance while offering encouragement and support. She set an example of professionalism for both students and coworkers. This scholarship continues her legacy to Ivy Tech Community College.

Marjorie & Orphie Bridges Scholarship

  • Administered by the Heritage Fund - the Community Foundation of Bartholomew County, this scholarship was established by the late Marjorie and Orphie Bridges to support vocational education students with preference given to participants in the Family Self-Sufficiency Program.

Columbus Development Endowed Scholarship

  • An endowed scholarship fund established by the Regional Development Council to support Ivy Tech students in their pursuit of higher education and improved job skills.

Futures Unlimited Fund

  • Established to help first-time Ivy Tech students achieve their education goals and gain skills needed to succeed in the workplace. Given to: 1) displaced homemakers; 2) displaced workers; 3) minorities; and 4) recipients of public assistance.

  • Qualify as displaced homemaker, displaced worker, minority, or recipient of public assistance changing lives
Edythe and Max Gosnell Memorial Scholarship for Nursing
  • Amount: $300
  • Awarded: Spring
  • Administered by the Heritage Fund – the Community Foundation of Bartholomew County, the Edythe and Max Gosnell Memorial Scholarship was established by Patricia Gosnell Bush and R. Benjamin Bush in memory of Mrs. Bush’s parents. The scholarship is intended to help a Bartholomew County student enrolled in the Practical Nursing program or the Associate of Science in Nursing program.

Irwin-Sweeney-Miller Foundation Scholarship

  • Established to provide financial support to students who are motivated to improve their personal situation by furthering their education at Ivy Tech. Preference given to Bartholomew County residents and participants in the Family Self-Sufficiency program or Workforce Development programs.

National City Bank “NCB Scholars” Program
  • Amount: Up to $500
  • Awarded: Spring
  • National City Bank established the “NCB Scholars” program to assist students of exceptional merit from communities where NCB has a banking presence. The award may be used only for costs related to the student’s education at Ivy Tech Community College. A thank you letter to the manager of the local NCB branch is expected.

Elizabeth R. Nugent Practical Nursing Scholarship

  • Established as a memorial to Elizabeth R. Nugent, a member of Columbus’ pioneer Ruddick-Crump family, this scholarship assists students pursuing professional study in the Practical Nursing Program.

Walter C. Nugent Memorial Scholarship

  • This scholarship was established as a memorial to the late Walter C. Nugent, a Columbus businessman and philanthropist.

Pitt Scholarship Fund
  • Amount: $500 per academic year
  • Awarded: Fall, Spring
  • Established as a memorial and tribute to the donors’ parents, Winifred Gladys Nagel Pitt and Frank Rylands Pitt, who valued education. The purpose is to make funds available to deserving students who need financial aid.

Harvey S. Poling, Jr. Memorial Scholarship
  • Amount: $1,000
  • Awarded: $500 in Fall, $500 in Spring
  • Established as a tribute to a veteran teacher and Ivy Tech Community College administrator, Harvey S. Poling, Jr. Candidates must be at least 28 years of age and have completed half of their program of study requirements. Awards are for tuition, fees, books, and expenses.

Seymour Rotary Scholarship

Douglas E. Blankenship Scholarship for Photography
  • Amount: $500
  • Awarded: Spring
  • The scholarship was established by Laurey Blankenship, a graduate of the Graphic Design Program, as a memorial to her late husband Douglas E. Blankenship, a student with great talent in the Photography Program who died before being able to graduate. This scholarship is to help other photography students achieve the same dreams he had. Applicants must present work to a jury in January.

Holmes Scholarship
  • Amount: $500

  • A statewide scholarship established by Robert C. Holmes, Vice-President/Treasurer of Ivy Tech Community College and Assistant Treasurer of the Ivy Tech Foundation, and his wife in memory of Mr. Holmes’ parents, Howard and Louise Holmes, who valued education and emphasized its importance for all individuals – especially those without a family history of attending college. Must provide reference from employer or faculty member. Special application on file in Financial Aid Office.

Michael Price Scholarship

  • This endowed scholarship was established in memory of Michael Price, a gifted Ivy Tech Graphic Design student, by the parents, family and friends of Michael. The scholarship enables students to complete their educational objectives and begin careers in graphic design. Only advanced students in Graphic Design are eligible to receive awards.

Peter A. and Anna I. Massa Memorial Scholarship

  • Established by two Ivy Tech employees as a memorial to Peter A. and Anna I. Massa, grandparents of one of the employees, to help students in Accounting or Business Administration programs achieve their dreams.

Nursing 2000 Scholarship

  • Established by Nursing 2000, a not-for-profit organization, to promote and support careers in Registered Nursing. This scholarship is awarded to students from Ivy Tech Community College School of Nursing, Indiana University School of Nursing, Marian College Department of Nursing and the University of Indianapolis School of Nursing.

Brown County Community Foundation, John A. and Cheryl J. Eyed Scholarship
