English As A Second Language

The purpose of the ESL classes is to provide academic preparation to individuals having limited English language proficiency. Instructional components include English reading, writing, listening/speaking at beginning (ESOL 001), intermediate (ESOL 002), pre-academic (ESOL 003), and academic (ESOL 004) level courses.

Other courses and campuses will be added Spring 2010. Enrollment is determined by a free language placement test offered summers and each semester for students wanting to enroll the following semester.

  • Credit Division Begins:
    August 24, 2009
  • Non-Credit Division Begins:
    September 8, 2009
  • Free ESL Placement Test Dates:
    Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9-3 p.m.
    June 30th: 9-4 p.m.
    August 1st: 8 a.m.
    Advising follows the test.
