The Engineering Technology program will educate skilled technicians who will work with engineers and other technicians to design, implement, and support engineering processes. As a transfer degree, the Engineering Technology program is designed to prepare you for continuing your education in a baccalaureate degree program in a wide range of engineering specialties including: electrical, mechanical, civil, industrial, and chemical engineering technology. Skills and knowledge activities such as collecting, analyzing, and interpreting data and troubleshooting complex integrated systems will be fundamental concepts in all coursework. As firms continue to seek new means of reducing costs and increasing productivity, demand for engineering technicians to analyze and improve production processes should increase. Students will develop basic and advanced skills appropriate to the application of science, technology, engineering, and math that will enable graduates to enter the workforce and/or transfer to a four-year engineering technology program. Graduates can continue their education at Purdue University statewide programs, Indiana State University or Trine University. Check out the Ivy Tech Guided Pathway to Success (Ivy Tech GPS) icons to map out your pathway for success. |
