Biography
Sheila Biggs is the director of career services at Ivy Tech Community College-Northeast. She has worked for Ivy Tech in Student Affairs for 12 years. Previously, she worked in human resources and labor relations in the automotive industry for eight years and was also in public accounting for 12 years.
At Ivy Tech, she served five years as a Phi Theta Kappa advisor and received the International award for advisors in 2007. She was also an advisor for various other groups, including Student Government Association, Alumni, and Student Leadership Academy.
As a student, Biggs was the first distance education student to receive one of the 25 honorary mention awards for the Alan Rankin Award of Community Support involvement and awareness of Indiana State University.
Biggs is a member of the NIHRA (Northern Indiana Human Resources Association) and other college related organizations like Career Development Professionals of Indiana (CDPI), CPP: Leaders in Workforce Development, National Association of Colleges and Employers (NACE), and National Academic Advising Association (NACADA).
