Welcome to the Ivy Tech Community College - Lafayette Campus.

  • All buildings and campuses in the Lafayette region are tobacco free; use of all forms of tobacco products is prohibited
  • Ivy Tech is a commuter college and does not operate residence halls. However, the Office of Student Affairs may have information on housing in the community. Ivy Tech accepts no responsibility for locating, approving or supervising local student housing.
  • The Ivy Tech bookstore is located on the Lafayette campus in the 1300 halllway. Textbooks, supplies, college apparel, souvenirs and much more are available for purchase. Books can also be purchased online through the Ivy Tech Bookstore webpage.
  • Parking at the Lafayette Campus, Crawfordsville Campus, Monticello Site, and Frankfort Site is free to all students, staff and visitors. No registration of vehicles is necessary. However, please observe posted signs for permit, handicapped, and employee parking. During the summer months, designated parking for motorcycles may be available on the Lafayette campus.   • CityBus (Greater Lafayette Public Transportation Corporation) serves the campus and surrounding area. Students, faculty and staff may ride the bus at no cost by showing their current, valid ID card. For current route information go to www.gocitybus.com or call (765) 742-RIDE (7433). Persons needing specialized services from Care-A-Van (transportation for handicapped) may call (765) 449-1117 for information.

College Closing Information

When weather or other conditions necessitate cancellation or delayed start of day or evening classes, announcements will be made on the radio stations in Crawfordsville, Frankfort, Monticello, and Rensselaer. Both radio and television networks in Lafayette will broadcast messages about emergency closings and delayed starts. We will also post the notification on the Web at www.cancellations.com

Classes meeting in local high schools will be cancelled when the school is not in session. Students are requested to listen to the designated local radio stations for emergency closing of campus or delayed start of classes.

Distribution & Signature Policy

To promote the free exchange of ideas, Ivy Tech Community College, Lafayette permits students, faculty, employees, and the general public to distribute printed materials and to solicit signatures on the campus, subject to the time, place, and manner restrictions set forth in this policy. People who voice their opinions in public are attempting to teach or voice their beliefs or concerns to those who want to listen.  Individuals not interested in what they are saying or not agreeing may chose to walk away.  The college believes this promotes free speech and the principles of education and the formulation of one's own values.
This policy does not cover for-profit transactions. The College's policies on commercial and charitable solicitation must be consulted separately. Printed materials used in connection with the College's academic and administrative programs are the responsibility of the appropriate originating units within the College and are not covered by this policy. This policy is not intended nor shall it be used by the College for prior content review of printed materials.

Time and Place Restrictions

  1. Distribution of printed materials is limited to the College's normal operating schedule.
  2. Distribution of printed materials or solicitation of signatures is permitted outside buildings on sidewalks within the campus is limited to the daylight hours. 
  3. Displays and/or distribution of material or the collection of signatures may not be done within 50 feet of any College building.
  4. Distribution of material must be done in person.  Placing literature on windshields, tables, or other locations is not permitted.  Additionally, no signs may be placed on college property without permission form the Dean of Student's Office.
  5. No distribution of printed materials or solicitation of signatures is permitted inside buildings without prior approval from the Dean of Students' Office.  This permission will be given for college business only.

Conduct and Manner Restrictions

Those who distribute printed materials or solicit signatures on the campus must not:

  1. Attempt by repeated demands, threats, or otherwise, to coerce passersby into accepting or paying for materials.
  2. Interfere with, impede, or cause blockage of the normal flow of traffic.
  3. Commit any act likely to create an imminent safety or health hazard.
  4. Accompany the distribution of materials with loud or raucous sounds likely to disturb others solely by reason of their decibel levels.
  5. Interfere with or disrupt any other lawful activity by anyone else lawfully in the same general location at the same time.
  6. Post materials on any walls, windows, doors, sidewalks, trees, light poles, etc., or any other college equipment.
  7. Distribution of the following materials is prohibited:
  8. Material that is either libelous, or, under current legal standards, obscene.
  9. Material that is likely to incite or produce imminent lawless action.
  10. All printed materials in whatever manner distributed must identify the issuing person(s) or organization(s)

Enforcement

Violations
Alleged violations of this policy should be reported to the campus security, who after consultation with the Dean of Student Affairs or designee, will determine whether or not a violation is occurring. Upon a determination by the Dean that a violation is occurring, security or other college officials shall inform the person(s) responsible that the violation and/or activity must cease.

Penalties
Violations of this policy may result in withdrawal of permission to distribute printed materials or to solicit signatures. The College reserves the right to confiscate materials whose distribution is prohibited by this policy. Individuals may be prohibited from entering any area of the campus and be excluded from the campus if this policy is violated. Failure to comply with a cease and desist directive may lead to arrest and prosecution and/or result in enforcement of sanctions.

Cost

There is currently no fee for use of our meeting facilities.  Fee is subject to change at any time.


Parking

You may park in any space that is designated for parking and not marked for employees or a green permit.  Please use the handicapped spaces only if appropriate documentation is displayed.  You may check our Locations page for a campus map including all parking areas.

Catering

Food and beverage are permitted in all Lilly Meeting rooms, but is prohibited in the NCHS Auditorium.  Events can be catered by an outside vendor, but use of the kitchen is prohibited by outside groups.  Tables can be set up to accommodate food upon request.

Audio/Visual Equipment

If you require audio/visual equipment for your event, please check the appropriate boxes on the rental agreement form.  An equipment request form will be sent to the Instructional Design Center for you.

Use of campus computers requires a temporary account.  Once a reservation has been made, please contact the Instructional Design Center at (765) 269-5480 to set up temporary computer access.  Wi-Fi is available free of charge for laptop computers.

Room Cleanliness

Ivy Tech Community College - Lafayette takes pride in its facilities, and we ask that you leave the room in the same condition in which you found it.  Disregard for the facilities will result in the loss of future use.

Smoking and Tobacco Use

Ivy Tech Community College - Lafayette is a tobacco free campus; use of any tobacco product is strictly prohibited. All tobacco products must be extinguished before entering college grounds (this includes smoking in vehicles while on college property).
