In addition to the classes at Ivy Tech Community College, learning opportunities continue outside of the classroom. The Office of Student Life supports extra-curricular programming designed to supplement your courses. Academic clubs, civic and social clubs and organizations, intramural sports, leadership development and other student activities are available.

Why get involved on campus?? Campus involvement is a great way to make the most of your college experience. You can increase your career and educational opportunities by participating in campus activities and organizations. You can make friends and establish useful networks. You can learn about your strengths and improve your skills where needed. All of these opportunities are available through active involvement on campus.?

Student Leadership Academy
This program is designed to provide emerging and existing leaders the opportunity to explore the concept of leadership and to develop and improve their leadership skills. The course integrates readings from the humanities, experiential exercises, films, and contemporary readings on leadership.

Students participating in the program will gain a basic understanding of the concept of leadership theory while developing a personal philosophy of leadership and awareness of the moral and ethical responsibilities of leadership. The academy provides the opportunity to develop essential leadership skills through study, observation, and application.

Further information about the Student Leadership Academy is available from the Student Life Office - Ivy Hall Room 1323, (765) 269-5618.

Clubs and Organizations
All students are urged to participate in student clubs and organizations. It is a great way to spend your time in between classes, have fun, meet new friends, and add skills and experiences that will be transferable to your resume. Remember, you can join a club any time of the year and it doesn't matter how long you have been an Ivy Tech Community College student. For a list of clubs and organizations with contact information, click here.

Do you want to form a club that we don't have? There are few restrictions involved in forming new student clubs. A new organization may be formed after obtaining a faculty or staff advisor, creating a constitution, filling out all paperwork required by the Student Life Office, and gaining approval by a vote by the Student Government Association. An organization must be officially recognized by the Student Government and the College prior to requesting and utilizing College facilities for activity purposes. The College will establish priority for use of its facilities.

Further information about forming clubs/organizations is available from the Student Life Office - Ivy Hall Room 1323, (765) 269-5618.

Student Government Association
