Places Where Graduates Work

The Library Technical Assistant program at Ivy Tech Community College is the first step, for anyone, towards landing a great job in Indiana. The program provides you new job skills and Ivy Tech prepares you for prominent and distinguished job placement at a price not offered by any other institution in the state.

Public libraries exist in almost all counties in Indiana. Below is a short list of the largest systems. For a full listing of Indiana's public libraries, click here.

  • Allen County Public Library
  • Lake County Public Library
  • Evansville Vanderburgh Public Library

School libraries or media centers are found in most elementary, middle, and high schools in Indiana. Most of these libraries have "aides", which operate the library on a daily basis under the supervision of a librarian. For a full listing of Indiana schools, click here.

Academic libraries exist in colleges and universities around the state. The largest institutions are listed below, but you can view a full listing of both public and private institutions here.

There are special libraries in many businesses, industries, and other organizations around the state. These include libraries in hospitals, law offices, private companies such as Eli Lilly, and non-profit organizations. However, most of these libraries are small and offer limited opportunities of employment.
