Funded by Mervin and Dorothy Lung. $1500 per year ($500 per semester: summer, fall, and spring of second year) to be awarded to a student currently enrolled in the LPN program on the Ivy Tech Elkhart campus and attending classes exclusively on that campus. Student must maintain a GPA of 2.5 in required nursing courses for the award, as well as to continue it for all three semesters. Scholarship may be used for tuition, fees, books and other program expenses. Applicants must complete Ivy Tech scholarship application and include a personal statement of 250-500 words addressing their goals for the future and how a nursing degree will assist them in reaching their goals.
Application Procedure
Applicants must complete the standard Ivy Tech scholarship application (available on-line). A personal statement, described above, must be attached. Applications must be submitted to Phyllis Syers, by the DEADLINE OF APRIL 1. Applications will be reviewed by a faculty committee appointed by the Vice Chancellor of Ivy Tech Elkhart. The scholarship winners will be notified by May 1 and scholarships will be effective in the summer semester, 2009.
