The Veterans Affairs Office serves as a liaison between students who are veterans, their dependents and the Department of Veteran Affairs. The office assists students with veteran status and dependents of service disabled or deceased veterans with their educational benefits. As a veteran you may be eligible for financial assistance towards advancing your education.

Ivy Tech Community College is honored to be approved for enrollment certification of students eligible to receive educational assistance (G.I. Bill) from the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (V.A.). If you have any questions, please contact your local Veteran Affairs Certifying Official (VACO).

VA Web Site Updated with Specifics about Advance Pay
Please see www.gibill.va.gov for updated, detailed information on the advance payment initiative for veterans who have not yet received payment, but are currently enrolled in school. Please note that this advance pay is limited to veterans, no advances can be given to dependents, whether on Transfer of Entitlement or Chapter 35.

VA Web Site Updated with Specifics about Education Benefit Claim
The Department of Veterans Affairs has made funds available for Veteran students who are still awaiting their education benefit claim to be processed. Eligible veterans can receive up to a $3000 advance, which will be recouped from future benefit payments. If you are a student who applied for one of VA's education programs and have not yet received your monthly benefit payment for the Fall 2009 term, you can request a one-time advance payment at your local VA Regional Office or through VA's website, www.va.gov.
