Guest Student

Taking courses at Ivy Tech to transfer back to your college or university is easy. In three steps you can be ready to take your courses:

	Please complete the following Guest Student Application and return it to the Ivy Tech campus you plan to attend. You will need to provide verification from your home campus that you are in good standing by either obtaining a signature from the appropriate college official or bringing documentation to your Ivy Tech campus that verifies good standing (college transcript, grade report from last semester, etc.). Ivy Tech's Guest Student Policy is printed on the back of the Guest Student Application. You can scan and send a completed form electronically to an admissions officer at your local campus, mail it, or bring it into your local Ivy Tech admissions office. If you want Ivy Tech to verify your good standing instead of relying upon authorization from your home campus, you will need to visit your Ivy Tech admissions office in person.

	Register for the classes you have been approved to take.

	Pay your tuition.

Guest students should also be aware of the following:

		Ivy Tech does not offer financial aid to guest students.

		International students on an F-1 student visa must submit page one of their I-20 with their completed guest student application. International students may need to grant permission for the DSO at their home school to discuss their SEVIS standing with a DSO from Ivy Tech Community College.

		It is important that you are aware of the prerequisites for every Ivy Tech course. Having the knowledge necessary to succeed in your course(s) is assured by completing prerequisites. Please review the college catalog to review the prerequisites for each course.

		As a guest student, prerequisites will not apply but Ivy Tech advises that you have taken the prerequisite courses or their equivalent at your own institution before enrolling in these courses.

		Ivy Tech does not guarantee the transferability of courses to your home institution. Please talk with an advisor at your institution to make sure you are taking courses that will transfer.

		It is important that you complete the Guest Student Application. You will not be able to register online until the application has been submitted (please allow at least one business day after submission before you register for classes)

		Guest Student Applications are only good for one semester. If you wish to take courses as a guest student in future semesters, you will need to submit another application.
