Student Clubs


Student Ambassadors

Student Ambassadors are representatives for the Office of Student Affairs. They provide campus tours, participate in recruitment and retention efforts, assist in off campus visits, staff inbound and outbound phone calls, answer emails, participate in orientation and provide general mentoring and peer guidance to prospective students. By being a part of the Student Ambassador program you have the opportunity to enhance your leadership, networking and communication skills while developing confidence and providing knowledge and service to others. Students who are chosen to be Student Ambassadors also earn scholarship money.

Student Senate

We are the voice and ears of each individual student. Our goal is to help others realize their full potential through leadership, guidance, friendship and encouragement. All Ivy Tech Community College students are welcome to attend monthly meetings.

The senate regularly supports activities on campus and in the community.

Campus Activities Board (CAB)

The CAB officers plan and organize events on behalf of the student body. As an officer, you will gain leadership experience which can be a valuable addition to your resume. You will work with vendors, community leaders, and faculty and staff at the Ivy Tech. This is an excellent opportunity to learn event planning, time management, and public relations. Positions are hired by the Office of Student Life and Leadership and the Office of Student Development. There are five positions, of which 2-3 will be filled in the spring semester and the remaining being filled in the fall semester.

Student Leadership Academy

The Student Leadership Academy provides students with developmental and experiential opportunities that foster leadership and community involvement. Through leadership education, advocacy, and volunteerism, students will become active citizens on campus, in their respective communities, and in the workplace. The Student Leadership Academy encourages students to move beyond cynicism, and become involved in community activities and services. Students who graduate from the academy receive a scholarship.

Phi Theta Kappa

The purpose of Phi Theta Kappa is "to recognize and encourage scholarship among two-year college students. To achieve this purpose, Phi Theta Kappa shall provide opportunity for the development of leadership and service, for an intellectual climate for exchange of ideas and ideals, for lively fellowship for scholars, and for stimulation of interest in continuing academic excellence."

Kappa Beta Delta

Education Club

Our local club is open to students who are interested in the field of education and feel a desire to teach.  Our activities range from charity walks and chili cook-off fundraisers to organizing and planning activities for kids at sponsored events!  We have fun and gain important life skills in the process!

Campus Pride is a student-driven club that champions academic excellence and community service while providing a safe, supportive and educational atmosphere for students to share what it means to be Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer, Intersex or a Straight Ally.

Christian Challenge
Christian Challenge is a student-led, church-related student group that puts Christ at the center of its focus. We provide Ivy Tech students with social, leadership, outreach and worship opportunities in which you can be accepted for whom you are and challenged to develop your walk with God. Meetings are conducted weekly on Wednesdays from 12:00-1:00 in C132. The meetings are informal, and many students are on their lunch break and bring their lunches.

Creative Writing Club
The Creative Writing Club is a student-led group dedicated to all types of creative writing. Any student is welcome, regardless of experience or ability. We hold regular workshops, do readings, and participate in community service events. We also have a Club Blackboard page which offers writing news, prompts, and other writing support, including an online workshop area for students unable to meet face-to-face.

Ivy Tech Community College Student Nursing Club
The Ivy Tech Community College Student Nursing Club  is a pre-professional organization open to all students interested in the health care field. Designed as a support group, the club offers students a chance to network and learn from others in the nursing field. Student Veteran Organization

VISION:
To offer camaraderie between Ivy Tech Bloomington students, alumni, staff and faculty by meeting the transitional, emotional, physical, administrative, and academic needs of our veteran and dependent population.

MISSION:
To create a mentoring program, conduct monthly meetings that promote group interaction, afford members the opportunity to become involved in civic engagement and enhance the success of all involved through academic and leadership assistance.

OBJECTIVES:
- To provide support and mentorship to fellow student veterans and their families
- To promote awareness of the growing veteran population by reaching out to the student body as well as the local community.
- To enhance the success of all involved veterans through academic and leadership assistance.
