Computer Science is an exciting field that explores the frontier of what computers can accomplish, and spans many disciplines and sectors of our economy, including science and research, industry, business and military.  A computer scientist can expect to enjoy a good salary, steady work, and opportunities to advance.  Among the many occupational fields, computer science has consistently ranked high in job satisfaction and wages over the last 20 years.  If you enjoy math, science, problem solving and new challenges, Computer Science is a wonderful career choice with a kaleidoscope of applications and unlimited possibilities.

WHY CHOOSE THE COMPUTER SCIENCE PROGRAM?
The Computer Science Associate Degree program will prepare students to work in fields that span computational theory through cutting-edge development of computing solutions.  New technologies are utilized through three principal categories that include designing and building software, developing effective ways to solve unique problems in the computer sciences, and devising better ways of using computers to address real-world challenges confronting our community.

DEGREES AVAILABLE
Associate of Science, Associate of Science via Ivy Tech Online. NOTE: The number of credits required for a degree or certification is based on students who are program-ready and does not include non-academic skills courses. ASSOCIATE OF SCIENCE IN COMPUTER SCIENCE
(Minimum of 60 credit hours)

The Associate of Science degree prepares you for transfer to public colleges and universities to pursue a baccalaureate degree.  The curriculum offers a strong foundation in the fundamentals of the discipline of computer science programming, data structure design, computer architecture, data communication, programming language design, software engineering, algorithm analysis and design, compilers, operating systems, computer graphics, and database systems.  The Associate of Science degree in Computer Science transfers to several public colleges and universities in Indiana.

To find out information about your transfer options to public and private universities, contact your academic advisor or the transfer office of your local Ivy Tech. You are also encouraged to contact the institution and consult the current catalog and web page of the institution to which you wish to transfer.

IVY TECH ONLINE DEGREE OPTIONS

You also have the option to earn an Associate of Science via Ivy Tech Online, a completely online option. This virtual option provides students with the same content and knowledge as our traditional program, but is delivered entirely through our distance education delivery system.
