Mechanical Engineering Tech

The Mechanical Engineering Technology (METC) Program at Ivy Tech Community College prepares two-year associate degree graduates for transfer to a four-year engineering technology program at institutions such as Purdue University or IUPUI.  Students graduating from Ivy Tech with the AS degree may also choose to enter the workforce with basic technology skills and appropriate science and math knowledge to work with engineers and other technicians to synthesize, improve, and implement mechanical designs and to support engineering processes such as collecting, analyzing, and interpreting data and troubleshooting mechanical systems.

Transfer Degree:

Associate of Science (60 credit hours = 4 semesters)

The Associate of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology prepares you for transfer to a university to pursue a baccalaureate degree. Graduates will also earn the Transfer General Education Certificate.

Courses you will take

Your advisor will help you select electives for your program. Statewide electives, Transfer General Education Core (TGEC) electives, and Transfer Cluster electives vary by degree.
