Opportunity Knocks Series to Start January 22 with Three New Seminars

Ivy Tech Business and Entrepreneurial Services Center (BES Center) located on Ivy Tech's Greencastle campus in partnership with the West Central Indiana Small Business Development Corporation (ISBDC) and the Greater Greencastle Chamber of Commerce have scheduled the start of the spring "Opportunity Knocks" seminar series on January 22, 2014.   The suite of seminars was created to develop and enhance the business skills of individuals who are interested in starting a business, formalizing a business plan or developing a growth plan for an existing business.  Each seminar is scheduled for 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on one Wednesday each month, January – June, and costs $25 per seminar.

"The now six-part seminar series is designed specifically for entrepreneurs, giving them the tools they need to start or expand their business," said Melanie Boesen, vice chancellor/executive dean at Ivy Tech Community College in Greencastle.

"We expanded the four-part series to include three seminars on marketing," said Heather Strohm, regional director of WC-ISBDC.  Having a solid marketing plan is critical for a successful business.  We want to give participants the tools they need to be competitive with new and trending business practices.”
