Ivy Tech Community College students will connect with prospective employers at two Job Fairs in April.
On April 8 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., more than 40 employers will converge at the Terre Haute main campus at 8000 South Education Drive for this annual event open to all Ivy Tech students, alumni and community members. Area employers will share job opportunities and advice.
“This event is a win-win for everyone,” said Jaime Frey, director of Career Services at Ivy Tech Community College—Wabash Valley. “Employers have an opportunity to prospect early for potential employees. Students can interact directly with employers to more fully understand what they need and what career opportunities await them. In many cases, students begin the application process with employers right then and there.”
On April 17 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., the Greencastle campus at 915 Zinc Mill Road will have its first annual job fair. It, too, is open to all Ivy Tech students, alumni and community members.
“This is a great opportunity to open our campus to local employers and introduce them to the availability of quality employees we have for them here,” said Tina Tapy, academic advisor. “In a smaller community, businesses are often challenged to attract trained workers. The job fair offers them candidates that are qualified and ready to hit the ground running. The event is an opportunity for students to use their communication and networking skills. Everyone benefits.”
