Music Box Entrepreneur to Deliver Next Speaker Series Presentation at Ivy Tech

When music comes from the garage, it's typically of the fledgling rock band variety. But the music coming from Mark Timm's garage in 1996 was of the delicate music box variety.  Like garage bands who make it big, Timm's little music box company has since grown to be the top music box company in the world.

Join Timm as he shares the story of Cottage Garden, Inc. at the next presentation of the 2014 Speaker Series at the Ivy Tech Community College Business and Entrepreneurial Services (BES) Center on Tuesday, May 20. The presentation begins at 4 p.m. with a reception to follow from 5 to 6 p.m.  The Speaker Series is free and open to the public.  Ivy Tech and the BES Center are located at 915 South Zinc Mill Road in Greencastle.

After growing up on a small farm in Indiana, Timm went on to work for Kellogg's, the National FFA Organization and USA Today. He co-founded Cottage Garden in 1996 out of his garage and doubled sales every year for the next six years. Headquartered in Bainbridge, Indiana, with its main distribution facility in Greencastle, Cottage Garden was named Indiana's Small Business Administration Business of the Year in 2008 and was runner-up for the national title. In addition to Cottage Garden, Timm has launched and sold three other successful businesses in the last 15 years.

The Speaker Series is presented by Ivy Tech. RSVP by May 13 by contacting Lora Zoll at 765-653-7410 x5029 or lzoll1@IvyTech.edu. For more information about the Speaker Series and other activities and services of the BES Center, visit the website at www.IvyTech.edu/BES.
