Indiana Arts Commission to host free grant workshop

The Indiana Arts Commission (IAC) will host a free workshop on Tuesday, November 20 for artists interested in applying for the Individual Artist Program grant. The workshop will be held from 5:30 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. in the Rose Firebay at the Ivy Tech John Waldron Arts Center, located at 122 S. Walnut St., Bloomington, Ind.

Indiana Arts Commission staff will discuss the Individual Artist Program grant history, guidelines, eligibility, how to apply, grant writing tips, how to utilize their Online Grant System, and what to expect as a grantee. Performing arts disciplines (music, theatre, dance, and literature) will be open for application this year, along with folk arts and access artists (any artist with a disability) in each of those disciplines. The deadline to apply for an Individual Artist Program grant for the period July 1, 2013 – June 30, 2014 is February 7. Applications are reviewed in April, and applicants are notified of their funding status in late June 2013.

The workshop is free and open to the public but reservations are required. Contact Trina Sterling at ksterling1@ivytech.edu or 330-4400.
