Ivy Tech registration open for classes at Orange County Learning Center

Ivy Tech registration for fall semester is open, and classes at the Orange County Learning Center at Springs Valley begin August 20.

Students can earn credits toward an Ivy Tech Associate degree by taking classes close to home at the Orange County Learning Center. 13 for-credit college courses will be offered in the fall semester. Courses include English, math, hospitality, business, psychology, and computers.

17 non-credit workforce training courses will be offered in the fall semester. Courses include computers, Microsoft Office programs, photo editing, ServSafe certification, keyboarding, and “Using Social Media in Business.” Non-credit personal enrichment courses include digital photography, mushroom growing, and artisanal jewelry-making. Two cooking classes will also be offered at Burton Kimble Farms in Orleans: “Cookie & Cupcake Decorating” and “Quick & Easy Cooking: No More than 5 Ingredients.”

The Orange County Learning Center at Springs Valley is located at 479 S. Larry Bird Blvd. French Lick, IN. For help applying to Ivy Tech or registering for classes, students can drop in without an appointment. Currently, the Orange County Learning Center office is open Monday-Thursday, 8 a.m. – 6 p.m., and Friday 8 a.m. – noon. Beginning August 20, the Orange County Learning Center office is open Monday-Friday, 9 a.m. – 6 p.m. The office is closed for lunch 1 – 2 p.m. and closed during evening classes.
