BLOOMINGTON – Ivy Tech Community College’s Bloomington campus now offers live online (synchronous) classes. Live online courses make it possible for students to interact with instructors by logging on at the time the class is held.
“Live online classes allow students to attend a class that meets on campus from a remote location, ask questions, and engage with the instructor and their classmates in real-time,” said Martin Wolfger, dean of the School of Arts, Sciences, and Education. “Students who wish to take classes offered in Bloomington but can’t make it to campus can log onto live online classes instead. Students who do not have an efficient internet connection at home can also visit their nearest Ivy Tech location in Brown, Lawrence, or Orange Counties to log onto their live online classes.”
Live online (synchronous) class offerings can be found by visiting ivytech.edu/online and selecting the “Bloomington” campus dropdown.
Students in Bloomington’s outlying service areas of Brown, Lawrence, and Orange Counties can also take in-person classes close to home. Available classes at each location and live online (synchronous) classes can be found by visiting ivytech.edu/bedford, ivytech.edu/orangecounty, and ivytech.edu/browncounty.
Ivy Tech’s Bedford location is at the StoneGate Arts and Education Center, 405 I Street. The French Lick location is at the Orange County Learning Center at Springs Valley, 479 Larry Bird Boulevard. In Martinsville, Ivy Tech staff can be available to assist at The Main Connection, 460 Main St.
In addition to live online (synchronous) classes, Ivy Tech also offers fully online classes that allow students to logon at any time for class.
