Described in her nomination as “one of the very best people I know – hands down,” Erxleben has spent her professional career working in higher education. She completed IU Bloomington’s Higher Education and Student Affairs degree in 2010, where she developed her passion for the Groups Scholars Program, the 21st Century Scholars Program and academic advising. Over the past eight years she has been part of the Ivy Tech Bloomington team. She spent two years as an academic advisor and six years as director of academic advising. Additionally, she has been an adjunct for Student Success and General Studies Capstone courses for four years.
In 2017, Erxleben was awarded the National Certificate of Merit for Outstanding Academic Advising Administration by the Global Community for Academic Advising. In 2013, she received the Certificate of Excellence from SVO Student Group for outstanding support above and beyond the scope of duties for the Student Veterans’ Organization of Ivy Tech Community College.

Outside of Ivy Tech, Erxleben is a parent volunteer for Boy Scout Troop 129, and she has organized unique experiences for the scouts. She has been a member of the Edgewood Partners in Education team since 2016, and she has been involved in causes supporting marriage equality and women’s rights.
Erxleben is passionate and compassionate about her work and community.
