BLOOMINGTON – Ivy Tech Community College’s Bloomington campus is hosting a locally-sourced holiday sale on Thursday, Dec. 5 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. and is accepting vendor applications. Ivy Tech’s “Shop Local Holiday Fair” will feature area artisans with handmade goods for sale, including kid and pet items, home décor, soaps and candles, textiles and clothing, and other handmade products.
“Some vendors plan to sell goods as a fundraiser to support community organizations such as Edgewood High School Theater and Bloomington High School North Boosters,” said Melissa Rowe, Shop Local Holiday Fair co-organizer and Ivy Tech business office director.
For $25, vendors can reserve a 7×7-foot space in Shreve Hall to display and sell their handmade items on Ivy Tech’s main campus. Funds collected will go directly toward scholarships for Ivy Tech youth summer camps and art classes. Donations for youth camps and art classes can also be made by writing a check to the Ivy Tech Foundation.
In order to provide a diverse array of goods for sale, the number of each type of vendor will be limited to three and there are 19 spaces left. Space is reserved on a first come, first serve basis. Vendors be advised that lunch and display tables are not provided. Vendors must bring their own display tables, chairs, and other needed materials. Bloomingfoods Ivy Tech café is located on campus where lunch and snacks can be purchased.
The “Shop Local Holiday Fair” is organized and hosted by Ivy Tech’s sustainability committee, as part of the college’s commitment to support entrepreneurship and the growth of the creative economy in the greater Bloomington area, and to encourage shopping locally.
The “Shop Local Holiday Fair” is free to attend and is open to the public.
Interested vendors should fill out this reservation form and submit it with a check made out to the Ivy Tech Foundation before the Nov. 22 deadline. If the maximum medium type has already been reserved, vendors will receive a return payment and a letter. Contact Melissa Rowe for more information at mrowe21@ivytech.edu or (812) 330-6074.
