BLOOMINGTON – The Optometric Technology academic program at Ivy Tech Community College Bloomington is currently accepting applications for a fall semester start.

The Optometric Technology program prepares students to work closely with optometrists as part of the eye care team, as opticians. In Bloomington and the surrounding area, workforce demand is greater than the supply of professional opticians.

Students can earn a technical certificate after 33 credit hours, making them eligible to start careers as opticians after completing the National Opticianry Competency Examination and the Contact Lens Registry Examination. Technical certification leads to an associate degree in Optometric Technology.

Apply now for Optometric Technology. Applications will be accepted through May 15.
