Bloomington — Ivy Tech Community College Bloomington is hosting an Introduction to Semiconductors training session July 1-3 from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. This free, three-day workshop is designed to open doors to local careers in the emerging field of semiconductors. The training is open to the public and space is limited to 16.

“Participants will get hands-on skills training that paves the way for careers in the lucrative field of semiconductor manufacturing,” Michael Waterford, Microelectronics and Department of Defense Employer Laison at Ivy Tech Bloomington said. “The workshop offers an entry-level overview for anyone who may be exploring career pathways or wanting to make a career change.”

Interactive workshops will be led by Ivy Tech faculty, including building robots, programming automation equipment, soldering, and circuit boards. Participants will learn the fundamentals of the semiconductor industry and hear from local industry representatives and hiring managers.
