Bloomington — Ivy Tech Community College Bloomington will host its annual Commencement Ceremony Friday, May 2 at 6 p.m. at the Indiana University Auditorium, where it will celebrate the Class of 2025. Approximately 1,431 graduates have earned 1,850 associate degrees and certificates.
“Over 80% of Ivy Tech graduates choose to stay in our communities, filling in-demand roles that make a difference,” said Chancellor Erik Coyne. “They’re your HVAC technicians, nurses, teachers, and so much more—all helping to make the Bloomington region a great place to live and work. We are proud to call them alumni and look forward to celebrating their accomplishments.”
Britney Khan, co-president of Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society and informatics graduate, will give the commencement address. Khan is graduating with magna cum laude honors and was named outstanding student in her program of study. She will speak to her experience as a first-generation student who had just moved to the United States, and how Ivy Tech is the bridge to what comes next.
Ivy Tech represents more than a college—it represents possibility. It gave me a beginning where I could not only earn credits but ultimately set myself up for long-term success."
– Britney Khan, Phi Theta Kappa co-president, informatics graduate
Khan will transfer to a four-year university this fall to earn her bachelor’s degree in international studies. In the future, her goal is to pursue a career in humanitarian work, with dreams of working for the United Nations.
