Bloomington— The Center for Lifelong Learning at Ivy Tech Community College Bloomington is offering digital skills training in downtown Bedford, Ind. at the StoneGate Arts & Education Center. With funding support from a Regional Opportunity Initiatives (ROI) Digital Towns grant, costs for the classes are reduced to $25.

These low-cost skills trainings are open to the public and aim to provide the chance for individuals, small businesses, and local organizations to strengthen their digital and creative skillsets.

Classes include Social Media Marketing & Branding with instructor Ashlynne Bender, a local marketing specialist and community relations partner, and Beginning/Intermediate Photoshop with instructor Juliet Frey, photographer and recipient of a Bloomington Arts Council Emerging Artist grant.

Social Media Marketing & Branding is a five-week course that meets on Monday evenings starting Jan. 27. This course provides an intro to social media platforms, data analytics, and brand identity to help prepare for marketing campaigns, business launches and rebrands, or to maximize impact on social media.

For photographers or business professionals looking to boost their photo-editing skills, Beginning/Intermediate Photoshop is a two-week course that meets on Monday and Thursday evenings via Zoom starting Feb. 10. This course accommodates a range of skill levels and explores how to enhance photographs and create variations. A computer lab on location at StoneGate Arts & Education Center will be available for participants who need access to a computer and Adobe Photoshop software.
