At Ivy Tech, we believe that one day can mean everything.
For students like Shamari Garrett, a single day of generosity can unlock opportunities that transform lives, uplift communities, and strengthen Indiana’s economy. Garrett’s story is a testament to the power of education and the impact of Ivy Tech Day—a 24-hour giving event that fuels dreams and opens doors for students from all walks of life.
Garrett, a psychology student from Chicago, Illinois, embodies the spirit of Ivy Tech. Since enrolling in Fall 2023, she has become a driving force on campus, serving as president of the Student Government Association, participating in the Honors College, and actively engaging in Phi Theta Kappa and Bowens Scholars. But Garrett’s ambitions extend far beyond her own success. She dreams of becoming a social worker, dedicating her life to uplifting others and creating positive change in communities across the country.
“I chose Ivy Tech because it gave me a fresh start to reinvent who I was,” Garrett shared. “It was close to home and gave me the ability to work and continue my studies. Donations to Ivy Tech directly support students like me, providing resources and opportunities that make education more accessible and life changing.”
Garrett’s journey is just one example of how Ivy Tech Day makes a difference.
On Tuesday, Apr. 8, we invite you to join us for our third annual Ivy Tech Day—a statewide, 24-hour fundraising event dedicated to student success. Your generosity helps provide scholarships, emergency aid, and programs that empower Ivy Tech students to take their next step toward a brighter future.
Together, we can help students like Garrett surpass their own expectations and create a ripple effect of positive change in our communities and economy.
One day can mean everything.
