On Friday, Dec. 13, 2024, Ivy Tech Indianapolis celebrated its December nursing graduates with a heartwarming pinning ceremony in the Conference Center and Culinary Institute. This cherished tradition marked the transition of nursing students into the professional field and served as a poignant reminder of the compassionate care they will provide.
The evening was steeped in symbolism and significance. Graduates donned their Ivy Tech green scrubs and were welcomed by faculty, family, and friends who have supported them throughout their rigorous journey. The ceremony included the time-honored candle lighting, a tradition symbolizing Florence Nightingale's legacy as "The Lady with the Lamp." As the room glowed with candlelight, graduates recited the Nurses’ Pledge, vowing to uphold the highest standards of patient care and ethical practice.
