The Visual Communications Gallery opened the Jesus Arriaga exhibit with an artist’s talk on Tuesday, October 29. Jesus’ works apply the nuance of color, contrast, and abstraction in photography to explore understanding one's mortality and finding the irony of modern-day society through his own cultural through personal observation. He draws much inspiration through the influence and encouragement of his grandfather. A first-generation college student, Jesus graduated from Ivy Tech Community College in 2023 and is pursuing further studies at Indiana University South Bend. A special thanks to the Visual Communications staff for printing and hanging the show and to the culinary team for arranging the refreshments.
