Ivy Tech Community College Hosts 24th Annual Scholarship Scramble to Support Student Scholarships

TERRE HAUTE – Ivy Tech Community College hosted its 24th Annual Scholarship Scramble at Hulman Links Golf Course on May 17, 2024. This popular event, presented by First Financial Bank, brought together community partners to raise funds for scholarships benefiting students attending Ivy Tech Terre Haute and Greencastle.

A highlight of the day was a generous contribution from First Financial Bank. During the event, First Financial presented the Ivy Tech Foundation with a $10,000 check dedicated to student scholarships. First Financial Bank’s continued participation in this event has allowed them to establish a scholarship in their name. The Students First Scholarship awards $1,000 to nine students each year, benefiting first-generation students.

“First Financial shares with our community the value of supporting students as they pursue their college dreams,” said Norman D. Lowery, President and CEO, First Financial Bank. “At Ivy Tech, student success is a top priority, and this scholarship showcases First Financial Bank's dedication to assisting first-generation students in staying dedicated to their studies and aspiring towards a promising future."

More than 30 teams participated in the event, which included a variety of challenges and perks including a round of Blackjack, an opportunity to earn a free putt from Chancellor Crooks, and a chance to try for a hole-in-one and win a new car courtesy of Terre Haute Chevrolet (no golfers achieved a hole-in-one).
