What You’ll Learn
This instructor-led course is derived from the elements of basic dental anatomy, dental dam application, placing and contouring matrices, pit and fissure sealants, polishing and finishing amalgam and composite restorations. Sequencing of the restorative procedures is designed so each class meeting builds on the previous class. Each element makes a unique contribution to understanding the material. Upon successful completion of this course the student will be expected to:
Identify the anatomical landmarks and surfaces of dentition
Identify characteristics differences in dentition
Define G.V. Black's classifications of caries
Demonstrate placement and removal of dental dam
Relate the purpose of etchings, bonding agents, and bases in coordination with restorative materials
Prepare and manipulate metallic fillings, composites, and glass ionomers for restorative purposes
Demonstrate proper handling and disposal of dental materials

Class Details
This class is hosted at an Ivy Tech campus using state of the art equipment.
