AWS Gas Metal Arch Welding (GMAW) Certification Preparation

MFIT

What You’ll Learn

This welding certification course allows experienced welders to quickly achieve a specific certification issued by the AWS (American Welding Society) in the processes of MIG. MIG i.e., Metal Inert Gas welding, is generally used for large and thick materials. It employs a consumable wire that acts as both the electrode and the filler material. MIG welding is a versatile process and can be easily used to weld various metals and alloys, including copper, aluminum, nickel, and iron. The process can join dissimilar metals. The shielding gas protects the arc and the metal transfers across the electric arc.

Major Course Learning Objectives

  • Learn MIG welding processes to achieve an AWS certification
  • Learn the different types of materials MIG welders use such as alloy, metal, copper, aluminum, nickel, and iron
  • Learn the different types of tools MIG welders use daily
