What You’ll Learn
Ivy Tech Community College and the American Society of Power Engineers, Inc. (ASOPE) have partnered to provide professional training on boiler operation and maintenance. The seminars are designed for individuals currently working in the field. Participants will be introduced to a thorough overview of boilers, including operation, maintenance and how to reduce energy costs. This knowledge and these skills are necessary to operate a facilities plant safely and efficiently. Anyone associated with boilers should consider taking this course.

Class Details
Participants will sit for the ASOPE Facility Plant Operator licensing exam on the last day of class. Exams are proctored by Ivy Tech’s Workforce Certification Center.
Qualifications for this training include: • Minimum age - 18 • Education - High School Diploma, GED or equivalent • Experience - 6 months or 3 credit hour of Boiler Training or equivalent • Power Engineering Training • Examination - Written (Oral or Practical when necessary) • Maximum Boiler Size (unsupervised) LP - 150 BHP • Maximum refrigeration or Air Conditioning (unsupervised) 100 ton
