What You’ll Learn
The Lead Renovation, Repair, and Painting (RRP) training equips renovation and maintenance professionals with essential lead-safe work practices. Participants will learn to identify lead hazards in pre-1978 housing, implement containment and cleanup techniques, and comply with federal regulations. The course covers proper worksite preparation, safe renovation techniques—including painting, removing, and drilling—and effective communication with property owners. Students will also develop skills in regulatory compliance, documentation, and worker safety. Through hands-on training and assessments, participants will gain the knowledge needed to meet certification requirements and perform renovations that protect both workers and residents from lead exposure.
Career Options
The Lead Renovation, Repair, and Painting class opens careers in renovation, contracting, inspection, and compliance, ensuring lead-safe work. Certified professionals can become contractors, inspectors, or environmental health specialists, enforcing regulations and promoting safety in pre-1978 buildings.
